Established under the Gambling Regulation Act 2024, began issuing remote betting and betting-intermediary licences 1 July 2026; gaming/casino licence applications do not open until sometime in 2027–2028.

The Act's criminal offence provisions (class A fine up to €5,000 and/or up to 12 months on summary conviction; unlimited fine and/or up to 5 years on indictment) are framed around relevant officers/beneficial owners of licensees, i.e. operators, not individual players; no source found documents a distinct penalty for the player.

Ireland is an unusual case among the countries we’ve covered: it has a real, modern gambling regulator, a 2024 law, and no legal path to a licensed online casino at all — not yet. The Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland (GRAI) started issuing licences on 1 July 2026, but only for remote betting — sports wagering and betting intermediaries.[1] Gaming licences, the category that covers online casinos, don’t open for applications until sometime in 2027 or 2028.[1] Right now, in August 2026, there is no such thing as a GRAI-licensed online casino, crypto or otherwise.

That leaves Irish players choosing between two options: wait a year or two for a domestic casino market that doesn’t exist yet, or play at an offshore operator. We checked the Terms of Service of every casino in our database specifically for Ireland restrictions. Eight passed.

What the law actually says about crypto: We read the full text of the Gambling Regulation Act 2024. Cryptocurrency, digital currency, and virtual assets are not mentioned anywhere in it.[2] The only payment restriction in the Act — Section 165 — bans credit cards and credit facilities for licensed operators; it says nothing about crypto.[3] That silence isn’t a loophole so much as a reflection of timing: the Act was written for a market that, for casino gaming, doesn’t exist yet.

A new AML angle worth knowing about: On 13 August 2026, Ireland launched its first national anti-money-laundering strategy, built on the government’s 2026 National Risk Assessment (published 18 June).[4] That assessment rates crypto-assets as carrying “very significant” money laundering and terrorist financing risk — the highest tier on its scale — and the new strategy specifically commits to requiring gambling firms to run due diligence on crypto-related transactions.[5][6] The catch: this applies to licensed gambling firms. Since no online casino licence exists yet, the incoming scrutiny is aimed at a regulatory perimeter that, for casinos, is still empty. Meanwhile, Central Bank of Ireland data cited in the same coverage puts crypto ownership at roughly 10% of the population[6] — on par with or above the European average, and a lot of people with no domestic regulated casino to spend it at.

How we verified: Each casino below was checked against its official Terms of Service for explicit Ireland or Republic of Ireland restrictions. Casinos using general “prohibited jurisdiction” language without naming Ireland were also checked against country-code lists (ISO “IE”) in their geo-blocking clauses. Verification was conducted in August 2026.

Casino · Sportsbook · Esports · Horses

Stake’s Terms of Service (§14.3) list 42 restricted territories, spanning most of the EU, the UK, Australia, and more. Ireland is not among them. Irish players can register.

No welcome bonus — rakeback instead. Stake runs an 8-tier VIP Club (Bronze to Diamond) by lifetime wager, paying rakeback from Bronze onward, alongside a constantly-rotating library of races, raffles, and tournaments across casino, sports, and esports. For a player who plays regularly rather than chasing a one-time match bonus, this beats most welcome packages over time.

KYC: Not a no-KYC casino. Since January 2025, Stake requires government-issued ID (Level 2) before your first withdrawal — verification is fast (typically under 24 hours), but it’s mandatory.

Payments: 20 cryptocurrencies, instant deposits and withdrawals with no stated maximum on crypto. Stake also accepts local-currency deposits (CAD, TRY, MXN, INR, and others) through a third-party processor — GBP and EUR are not on that list, so Irish players depositing fiat would need to check current currency support directly.

Best for: Irish players who play often enough that rakeback beats a bonus, and who don’t mind completing ID verification before their first cashout.

BetFury’s Terms of Service (§3.3) name a long restricted-territory list — most of the EU, the UK, US, and Australia among them. Ireland is not named. Irish players can register.

Welcome offer: Up to 590% match + 225 Free Spins across three deposits, plus a 100-spin no-deposit signup gift. 10% lifetime rakeback (20% for an hour after claiming certain bonuses) accrues on every bet from day one and never expires — a genuinely strong ongoing structure, not just a signup hook.

KYC: Fully discretionary — no published dollar threshold. BetFury’s Risk Department can request verification at any time, with a committed 7-day first response and 30-day resolution window.

Trust signal: Casino Guru rates BetFury a “Very High” 9.2 Safety Index — one of the stronger third-party ratings in our review set — and the platform is CertiK-audited for smart contract security.

Payments: 35 cryptocurrencies plus four fiat currencies (MXN, CLP, PEN, COP — none of them EUR). Withdrawals: over 95% process within minutes, though every transaction goes through manual risk review, which can stretch to 72 hours.

Best for: Irish players who want the strongest combination of bonus size and third-party trust signal on this list, and are comfortable with discretionary KYC.

BitStarz’s Terms of Service (§3.6) list restricted territories including the UK, most of the EU, and Brazil. Ireland is not on the list. Irish players can register.

The most award-winning name on this list. Operating since 2014, BitStarz has picked up Best Casino honours from AskGamblers, Casinomeister, and LCB across multiple years — the longest, most independently recognised track record of any casino here.

Welcome package: Up to $500 or 5 BTC + 180 Free Spins across four deposits, 40x wagering. Weekly tournaments (Slot Wars, Table Wars) run guaranteed prize pools with no wagering on winnings.

KYC: Discretionary, no published threshold — but every deposit also carries a mandatory 1x wagering requirement as an AML measure before withdrawal, separate from any bonus terms.

Payments: 12 cryptocurrencies including a genuine Lightning Network option for BTC — one of the few casinos in our full portfolio with a live Lightning invoice, not just a marketing claim. Fiat accepted via card and e-wallets; EUR is supported.

Best for: Irish players who want the most established brand and the largest game library (7,000+ titles) on this list, and don’t mind KYC.

Jack.com’s Terms of Service (§3) name only seven restricted territories — Russia, Belarus, Lithuania, Georgia, Ukraine, Latvia, and Moldova. Ireland is not among them. Irish players can register.

Genuinely no-KYC for standard play. Jack.com’s AML/KYC policy is risk-based, not threshold-based — most players deposit, play, and withdraw without submitting any documents. Withdrawals average 10–12 minutes, among the fastest on this list.

Welcome offer: 100 wager-free spins on a $50+ first deposit — the spin winnings carry no separate playthrough, though the underlying deposit is still subject to a platform-wide 1x wagering rule before withdrawal.

Payments: 17 cryptocurrencies. Fiat deposits accepted in nine currencies including EUR and GBP, but fiat is deposit-only — all withdrawals go out in crypto, even on a fiat-funded balance.

Best for: Irish players who want the lightest KYC friction and fastest withdrawals on this list, with sports betting integrated into the same account.

mBit’s Terms of Service (§2.4) list roughly 190 restricted territories — an unusually long list, though built around a wide swath of Africa, Asia, and the Pacific rather than Western Europe. Ireland is not named. Irish players can register.

Largest bonus by BTC value on this list: 325% up to 4 BTC + 325 Free Spins across three deposits — but with a tight 1-day validity window per stage and 40x wagering on the bonus amount.

KYC: No verification at signup. mBit’s Terms reserve the right to request KYC above a 1 BTC equivalent payout, and may also trigger it below that threshold at the casino’s discretion.

Trust signal: Casino Guru rates mBit “Very High” (9.2), and Trustpilot rates it “Excellent” (4.3/5) with a 100% reply rate to negative reviews — including specific, technical responses rather than boilerplate.

Payments: Crypto-only — nine cryptocurrencies, no fiat rail at all. Withdrawal cap: 3 BTC/week, 10 BTC/month.

Best for: Irish players focused purely on crypto (no fiat interest) who want a big bonus and a strong third-party trust profile, and can live with the 1-day bonus-activation window.

Duelbits’ Terms of Service (§3.2) name a restricted list including the UK, US, Australia, and several EU states. Ireland is not on it. Irish players can register — and Duelbits is the one casino on this list with a direct Ireland-specific detail: its horse-racing book lists real Irish tracks (Galway among them) alongside UK and international meets.[7]

Welcome offer: Up to 250 free spins with zero wagering on the winnings, scaling with deposit size ($50 → 25 FS, up to $500 → 250 FS).

Rakeback: Up to 25% combined across four “Bits” streams (Instant, Daily, Weekly, Monthly), each a flat 5% on qualifying wager volume — paid as cash, no wagering required.

⚠️ Trust caution: AskGamblers logs a 0/10 complaint-resolution rate on Duelbits, including several large disputed sums described as stuck in repeated compliance review with no resolution. See the full Duelbits review before building a large balance here.

Best for: Irish racing and esports bettors who want a genuine horse-racing book alongside crash games and rakeback — weigh the trust caution above if you plan to hold a large balance.

BC.Game logo

BC.Game’s Terms of Service (§4.1.3) list a short, Western-Europe-heavy restriction set — UK, Australia, Austria, France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain among them. Ireland is not named. Irish players can register.

Widest crypto selection on this list by far: 168+ cryptocurrencies, plus real local-currency payment rails across dozens of countries (not relevant for Ireland specifically, but indicative of platform breadth). No KYC for most players by default.

⚠️ Trust caution — the most serious on this list. A Curaçao court declared BC.Game’s operating companies bankrupt in November 2024 over $2.5M+ in unpaid player claims. BC.Game then relicensed in Anjouan under an entity that Belize’s own Financial Services Commission could not confirm is legitimately registered there. See the full BC.Game review before depositing anything you’re not prepared to lose access to.

Best for: Irish players who specifically want the widest crypto coin selection available and are comfortable proceeding despite the licensing history above — read the full review first.

Metaspins logo
7.0out of 10

Casino · Sportsbook · Esports · Prediction Markets

Metaspins’ Terms of Service (§3.7) list around 48 restricted territories, including the UK and much of Western Europe. Ireland is not named. Irish players can register.

Welcome bonus: 100% match up to 1 BTC, 40x wagering, plus a rakeback system that can climb to 120% via an optional double-or-nothing Coin Flip mechanic on your base 3% rakeback.

KYC: No verification required to register or play; may be requested at discretion for large withdrawals.

⚠️ Trust caution: Casino Guru flags two Terms clauses as “somewhat unfair” (bonus-stacking risk, a short KYC-document deadline), and Trustpilot shows a “Poor” 2.1/5 with a recurring pattern of accounts closed over disputed “duplicate account” claims. See the full Metaspins review before depositing significant funds.

Best for: Irish players who want a large BTC-denominated welcome bonus and don’t mind a mixed third-party trust record — read the caution above first.

What Irish Players Are Actually Choosing Between

This isn’t the usual “offshore vs. a licensed domestic alternative” trade-off we describe for other countries. In Ireland, right now, there is no licensed domestic online casino to compare against:

  • No GRAI casino licences exist yet. Only remote betting (sportsbook) licences have started — gaming licence applications open sometime in 2027–2028.[1] Any Irish “licensed casino” claim you see today is either about land-based venues or premature.
  • The law doesn’t address crypto one way or the other. No prohibition, no explicit permission — the Gambling Regulation Act 2024 simply predates a licensed casino market and never had to decide.[2]
  • AML scrutiny is coming, but aimed at licensees. The new national AML strategy’s crypto due-diligence requirement applies to licensed gambling firms.[5] Since that category doesn’t include casinos yet, it doesn’t currently reach offshore operators either — but it’s a signal of where Irish regulatory attention is heading once gaming licences open.
  • No GRAI dispute resolution, no domestic self-exclusion register for casino play. Whatever consumer protections GRAI eventually builds for gaming won’t apply retroactively to money already deposited offshore.

Which Casino Is Right for You?

You want the strongest trust signal plus a genuinely large bonus: BetFury. Casino Guru’s 9.2 Safety Index is near the top of anything we’ve reviewed, and the 590% welcome pack plus 10% lifetime rakeback is a rare combination.

You want the fastest withdrawals and the lightest KYC friction: Jack.com. 10–12 minute payouts, real no-KYC for standard play, and sports betting on the same account.

You want the most established, most-awarded brand: BitStarz. Operating since 2014, with a genuine Lightning Network option and the deepest game library on this list — but KYC and a 1x AML wagering rule apply to every deposit.

You bet on horse racing: Duelbits is the only casino here with real Irish tracks (Galway) in its racebook — weigh the AskGamblers complaint-resolution caution first if you plan to hold a large balance.

You play often enough that rakeback beats a bonus: Stake. No welcome match, but an 8-tier VIP ladder and a constantly-rotating promo library reward volume over novelty — mandatory ID verification applies before your first withdrawal.

If you’re deciding purely on trust: BetFury and mBit both carry Casino Guru’s strongest safety ratings (9.2) in this group. BC.Game’s court-confirmed 2024 bankruptcy and unconfirmed Anjouan licensing entity make it the one pick here that needs a clear-eyed read of the full review before you deposit.
